How a permaculture association became a creative learning hub
Vaikuntha began as a vision rooted in sustainability and living in harmony with nature. It started as a permaculture community where people could farm, practice sustainable living, and connect with each other on a deeper level.
Over time, Vaikuntha began to attract creatives, intellectuals, and changemakers. People are looking for more than just a lifestyle.
This shift started with a question that Benedikt Irsch asked himself: "What if work didn’t have to mean being stuck in a boring office? What if the calm, focus, and energy found in nature could support deep learning and meaningful work?"
With that question, a new path opened. They built a kanban board, listed what are needed, and even started conducting SAFe and Kanban training in small groups. We observed how this changed our perspective on learning, on work, and on what a community could be.
Today, learning at Vaikuntha is no longer limited to meeting rooms or presentations. While permaculture remains at the heart of everything, the experience has grown to include leadership, art making, deep listening, and regenerative thinking.
It’s a space where learning happens by doing; hands in the soil, voices in dialogue, bodies in motion. Growth here means more than just learning a skill. It means becoming more connected to the land, to others, and yourself.
